We had never done an event with such a lot of our communities societies and clubs so we were eager to attend the showcase and meet some like minded people, if not a little nervous.
Setting up always seems a little fought but this went surprising smoothly. This time we had come up with exciting new things for our stall. Our Teddy mascot was on his first outing for the friends, charming everyone with his cuddliness and sensible t-shirt printed with the words, I’m a friend of Cranleigh Library. In fact he was a big draw as he was in need of a name, we invited people to help us with this and we had over thirty inspired ideas . We realised how difficult finding just one name from the list would be so we decided to carry the competition over to the rectory fete and then pick a random name out of the hat, maybe two, they are all so brilliant.
We had purchased new stickers for this years events and found disturbing them both fun and entertaining, so surprised with how many people proudly displayed them, it’s never just the kids who enjoy a good sticker.
With this event we handed out more leaflet than ever before., it was about what’s happening, and what’s available .It showcased all of the rich diversities of a well loved village with thriving clubs and societies.
We very much enjoyed meeting all the different societies and clubs, all seemed to be in a jovial mood and we found the whole event very uplifting and wonderfully heart-warming.
