Cranleigh Rotary Romanian Childrens Shoebox Appeal 2021

For 2021 Cranleigh Rotary, in association with St Nicolas Church parishioners, will again be pursuing a combined REAL and VIRTUAL SHOEBOX APPEAL for disadvantaged children in Romania. This will enable donors to either FILL A SHOEBOX with small gifts or make a DONATION. All donations made will be used to purchase suitable gifts in Romania for disadvantaged children.

Corneliu Medrea is Pastor of the Bethlehem Centre in the old steel town of Hunedoara in western Romania. He and his wife Diana have been active for many years in distributing thousands of shoeboxes, donated by generous UK schoolchildren and adults, to Romanian children who have a disability or are disadvantaged. Whatever your choice of donation type, your gift can greatly enhance the quality of the Christmas season for disadvantaged children.

If you wish to DONATE A FILLED MEDIUM SIZED SHOEBOX, here are suggestions for filling it: Knitted hat, gloves, scarf, soap, flannel, comb, simple calculator, balloons, crayons, soft tooth-brush, toothpaste, felt pens, pencils, small colouring book, doll, dynamo torch, Teddy bear, small toys, wrapped sweets, or small travel games. PLEASE DO NOT PUT IN THE BOX – liquids, food, sharp or dangerous objects.

Your filled shoebox wrapped in Christmas paper can be delivered to: St Nicholas Church Car Park on the 18th November from 10.30am to 12.30 or Fountain Square (opposite Sainsbury’s) on the 20th November from 10.30–12.30

If you wish to make a DONATION to the SHOEBOX APPEAL go to: www.justgiving.com/campaign/cranleighshoebox2021
