Experience the Magic of Motoring History

at the Craneligh Lions 50th Anniversary Classic Car Show! 11th August 2024

Cranleigh & District Lions Club will be putting on their spectacular 22nd Class Car Show on Sunday 11th August at the Cranleigh Showground.

The first show was in the year 2002, (sadly missing the year 2020 due to the pandemic). It was the brainchild of Lion Russell Lindfield when there were just a dozen cars. Over the years the show has gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of Lions Russell, Michael Meek, Tony Oliver and now Peter Baverstock and we can now boast over 1,000 classic cars.  This makes it our largest fundraising event in the Lions calendar, providing us with much-needed funds to help those in need in our community.

So Cranleigh, rev up your engines and mark your calendars for the Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show, an unmissable event for car enthusiasts and families alike! Held annually at the Cranleigh Showground, this year’s show promises to be the most spectacular yet, featuring a dazzling array of classic vehicles, vibrant activities and entertainment for all ages.

Step into a world where automotive legends come to life. From vintage beauties to iconic muscle cars and elegant sports models, the Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show has an impressive line-up of over 1,000 classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles, stationary engines and tractors. Marvel at meticulously restored classics, witness the charm of pre-war automobiles and feel the power of mid-century muscle cars that defined an era. There will be special areas for American cars and pre-war cars.

Beyond the stunning vehicles, the show offers a variety of attractions that ensure a fun-filled day for everyone. The autojumble and trade stands are a treasure trove for collectors and hobbyists, offering rare parts, memorabilia, and unique automotive accessories. For those seeking a deeper dive into car culture, expert talks and demonstrations in the arena provide fascinating insights into restoration techniques and the history of motoring.

The Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show is not just about cars—it’s a community celebration. Enjoy craft and antique stalls, demonstrations by the fire brigade, stands for the Air Ambulance and Police, live music performances that set the perfect backdrop for a summer day out including children’s rides, plus a wide selection of food and beverage stalls, ensures that all appetites are catered for – from gourmet delights to classic fairground treats.

Hosted by the Cranleigh Lions Club, this event also supports local charities, making your attendance a contribution to a great cause. So bring your family, friends and fellow car aficionados to the Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show where history, culture, and community spirit come together in one unforgettable day. See you there!

The Show opens at 9.30 am and closes at 4 pm. Further information about the event can be found www.cranleighlions.org/events/classic-car-show
