Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show & Autojumble is at its usual venue of the Cranleigh Showground in Surrey, Sunday 13th. With attractions for the kids too, this is a day out the whole family can enjoy and with admission at just £7, with under 16s free, doesn’t break the bank. The show is organised by the Cranleigh Lions and all profits are used to support individuals, families and charitable organisations that need help. Alongside the arena events, including displays from Brooklands Museum, are trade, craft and antique stalls, a variety of food and drink, which can be enjoyed by a easy listening band playing from 11am. Up to 2,000 classic vehicles of all kinds are expected to grace the Showground and around 100 stalls will be offering anything and everything.
The oldest car will be a 1921 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. The one travelling the furthest will be a 1958 Porsche 356 which is making 334 miles from Utrecht in the Netherlands. The Fire Brigade will be demonstrating their amazing life-saving skills with a mock road traffic accident showing how they can cut a car to release trapped passengers and how they extinguish the raging inferno developed from a chip pan fire. Further arena displays will see unusual cars, tractors and motorbikes. A Jaguar MK5 Drophead, found in a barn in a dismantled state, has been lovingly rebuilt over two years by a classic car enthusiast and is now ready to be shown in all her glory. Not to be missed!
