Glebelands Dinner Dance

After a challenging exam period, the Glebelands Year 11 students were able to let their hair down in celebration of finishing their GCSEs by attending their Leavers’ Dinner Dance at Denbies Vineyard in Dorking. 107 Glebelands Leavers arrived in a wide variety of modes of transport including stretched limos, a monster truck, tractors, motorbikes, vintage cars and camper vans.

The dress code was formal and the students did not disappoint; with the boys sporting some very smart 3-piece suits and the girls choosing full length gowns. The evening started with students being called into the venue and were welcomed by mocktails in champagne flutes.

From the moment they arrived students were on the dance floor, taking a moment to pop into the photo booth or being wowed by the close up magician. Following the 2 course sit-down meal they were eagerly back on the dance floor and remained there until the end of the evening.

“It was such a celebration of their hard work and I hope that they will remember their Leavers’ Day and Dinner Dance for many years to come. They have been a wonderful year group and I am so proud of all their achievements. I wish them all the best for the future and hope they get the results they deserve in August.”
