With so much uncertainty surrounding the current and future impact of COVID-19, after very careful consideration and with huge regret, we have decided that we must cancel the Cranleigh Lions and Bonfire Boys, bonfire and fireworks event this year.
We have looked very carefully at all of the options, knowing how much our community looks forward to and enjoys this annual tradition going back over 40 years. Sadly, we have concluded that it will not be possible to ensure the safety of all involved; Lions, volunteers and the public and meet the government guidelines for such gatherings.
The bonfire and fireworks event, as well as being a great spectacle attended by thousands each year, is a key fund raising event in our calendar. We continue to do all we can to look for other ways to raise funds to make sure we do our best to help and serve the people of Cranleigh and the wider community. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
We hope to be back bigger and better in 2021!
