Cranleigh Amateur Swimming Club – Life After The Surrey County Championships

Life continued at Cranleigh ASC even after the Surrey County A Champs had finished. Fuelled by only a short break to eat chocolate Easter eggs, normal training routine resumed as all pools were in working order. The main focus of the last month has been the Atlantis National Regional Chaser at the long Course Pool, K2 in Crawley and the Surrey Age Group Championship Spring Meet at Guildford Spectrum Centre.

20 swimmers attended the Atlantis Regional-National Chaser and we brought home 12 medals. A special mention should be given to Callum Stevens aged 9, who won all his 3 events.

The Surrey Age Group Spring Meet took place over 2 weekends mainly for our younger swimmers. 11 swimmers attended and we brought home 7 medals, 12 people ‘placed’ in the top 6 and a host of personal bests.

Sophie Moore winning Silver in the Individual Medley.

And so the swimmers continue training . . . working on stroke technique, fitness, endurance and racing . . . all with some fun, a smile and a lot of good friends.
