Cranleigh Rotary

Cranleigh Rotary ran their annual Spring quiz in support of Cranleigh Riding for the Disabled this year.

The event was held in the Village Hall with a total of ninety two people from sixteen teams attending. The event was organised this year by John and Gale Woodford who together invested a substantial amount of time with their family in making this event happen!

The total financial income from the event was £702 and, following expenses being paid, £500 was committed by our club to Cranleigh Riding for the Disabled.

Liz Harrison who is Chair of the Cranleigh Riding for the Disabled group made a short presentation to the assembled audience that evening. She showed a short video to illustrate the nature and scope of their work in helping disabled young people gain self-confidence and mobility through the work of the many volunteers who help them.

“Generally knowledgeable” won the cup again this year – which makes them winners in two successive years! Very many congratulations to them! This poses a challenge to all future teams to work hard to try to effectively compete with this very successful team!

We would like to thank all who attended together with Rotary volunteers who acted as door keepers, markers, raffle ticket sellers and hall-runners for all their efforts in making this event a success again. The plan is to hold the same event again in 2018 and the date set is Friday 20th April 2018
