Cranleigh Villages Health and Wellbeing Community Event – A Step Toward a Stronger, Healthier Future

On January 24th, 2025, Cranleigh Villages Group hosted a community health and wellbeing event at Cranleigh Baptist Church.  This brought together NHS providers, community groups, local Councillors, and caregivers to explore ways to improve the health and wellbeing of the 33,000 residents of Cranleigh and surrounding villages.

With insightful speakers from the health and care system, local professionals volunteering their time, and discussions covering topics such as  social prescribing and fostering community connections, the event highlighted the power of local collaboration in creating a healthier, more connected community.

The Cranleigh Villages Group is a collaborative initiative  between local groups, statutory bodies, and community members, aimed at improving health and wellbeing across Cranleigh, Ewhurst, Dunsfold, Alfold, and beyond. The event served as a platform for sharing ideas, addressing challenges, and developing practical solutions for more integrated working.

Key Takeaways from the Event:

  • Potential of the Community Connector model to improve  local integration to better support Health and Wellbeing
  • Launch a Health and Wellbeing survey to identify community needs and gaps
  • Potential and value of ecouraging collaboration between local communities, parishes, and statutory bodies
