All welcome to guided, free, sociable, HDC walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn-up at the start point. A booklet containing over 250 walks is available from the Walks Co-ordinator on 07720 714306 or online at www.horshamhealthwalks.co.uk Beginners are recommended to contact the Walk Leader: to discuss suitability. All walks can be wet and muddy in places. Forthcoming walks in the Cranleigh magazine distribution area and neighbouring areas are as follows:
Wed 26 June 10:00am Box Hill Circular 8 miles 5 hrs 45 mins
Meet at the Ryka’s Cafe car park off the A24 at the Burford Bridge Roundabout (opposite the Buford Bridge Hotel) RH5 6BY. An all-day circular walk. The walk will include Mickleham Downs, Box Hill and Headley Heath There will be a lunch stop at a convenient Public House on the route. Dogs welcome.

Thu 27 June 10:00am Okewood Hill 5 miles 2.5 hrs
Meet in the car park of The Punchbowl Inn, Okewood Hill, RH5 5PU. A walk through woods and farmland to the isolated Grade II 12th Century St John the Baptist church at Okewood Hill. Can be muddy. Good food and drink available in the pub after the walk. No dogs.

Meet at the Rugby Club, Hammerpond Road. (RH13 6PJ) Walkers with less time or energy can walk part of the route and then use a free pick-up bus to take them back to the start.

Meet at the Hurtwood car park in Walking Bottom Peaslake for an undulating walk through fields and woodland, with lovely views and fine houses. Some stiles. No dogs.

Thu 18 July 6:00pm Scarlett Arms, Walliswood 3.5 miles 1 hr 45 mins
Park in the car park opposite the pub (RH5 5RD). Turn West off A24 along the A264 following signs to Rudgwick and Guildford. Continue along Guildford Road (A281) to the Clemsfold roundabout, turn right on the A29 then immediately left into Rowhook Road. Drive for approx 3 miles past The Chequers at Rowhook. Ignore first turning to the right Look for Wienerberger on your left. Turn right to Walliswood (by red post box on left) Continue to car park opposite The Scarlett Arms. A lovely walk which includes passing through Surrey Wildlife Trust conservation area, the tiny hamlet of Mayes Green and one steep incline with views to the North Downs. Leith Hill tower is just visible amongst the trees on the skyline. No dogs.

Tue 23 July 10:00am Kings Head, Rudgwick – going East 4 miles 2 hrs
Meet car park opposite the pub (RH12 3EB). North off A281 along B2128 for about 1 mile towards Cranleigh. Mainly flat walk, some slopes, towards Rowhook through woods and fields along the southern slope of the border ridge between Sussex and Surrey. No dogs. Lynne 01403 268157
Thu 25 July 10:00am Mucky Duck 4.5 miles 2.5 hrs
Follow A281 to Bucks Green. Turn off left into Loxwood Road and proceed for about 1 mile to the pub. A relaxing walk through fields and woodland. Inclines and stiles en route. Refreshments are available and can be pre ordered.
