Every year in March a group of about 25 of us from Rudgwick and Ellen’s Green put on our Hi-Viz jackets and pick up litter from the King’s Head along the B2128 all the way to Thornhurst Brook/Cooks Removals. This year we are planning to undertake our litter pick at 10 am Saturday 23rd March meeting at the village hall Ellens Green.
It would be great to think that a similar group from Cranleigh could continue the clean-up from where we stop, back towards The Cranleigh Arts Centre. This is only one kilometre. In fact someone undertakes to clear the entire length of Somersbury Lane on their own, joined, we believe, at the Ewhurst end by the Ewhurst LEAP group.
We also aim to litter pick Furzen lane up to Honeywood lane and wonder if any folk from Ockley or Oakwood Hill would like to continue to pick up litter back towards their villages.
Waverley will be supplying sacks, litter picking tools, and Hi-Viz jackets, and we will have two trailers to pick up the bags. Want to join in?
