A Surrey family has finally opened their very own ice cream shop after operating for five years out of their vintage Citroen H van.
Husband and wife team Mike and Amanda Carter launched the Moooh! shop on August 1 and it could not have been better timed what with the soaring heatwave temperatures Surrey has been experiencing of late.
The shop in Ewhurst Road, Cranleigh, is open daily from 11am and there is a superb selection of hand-crafted flavours to tempt both adults and children alike. It closes at 6pm from Tuesday to Saturday and 5pm on Sundays and Mondays.
They include sea salted caramel, luscious lemon meringue, strawberries and cream, honeycomb crunch, classic creamy chocolate and Madagascan vanilla bean.
There are also refreshing sorbets on offer, dairy free.
Currently, the shop is open as well as the family continuing to sell ice cream from their vintage Citroen H van.
Amanda said: “What is particularly poignant is that the shop will be trading from was in fact an ice cream shop in 1904 and my husband’s family have been in Cranleigh for three generations and his mum remembers visiting the shop as a treat when she was a little.
“We sell at local events like the Cranleigh and Capel Classic Car Shows, The Surrey Hills Wood Fair, Oakwood Hill Flower Show, Shamley Green and Dunsfold Village Fetes, weddings and private parties.
“Due to lockdown all our events were cancelled this summer so we applied for a street licence.”
