An official world record attempt is coming to the village on Saturday 27th April as the centre-piece of the annual Spring into Cranleigh event.
Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce, organisers of the village-wide shopping event, have registered an application with Guinness World Records to win the title of “Largest display of painted pebbles/stones”.
This record attempt was inspired by the success of the Cranleigh Rocks group, started by Cranleigh in Bloom last year. Membership of the group on Facebook has quickly grown to more than 1,000 local people who take part in the game by decorating, hiding and finding painted pebbles around the village.
The display of painted pebbles will be created in Fountain Square between 9am and 2pm on Saturday 27th April 2019, with judging taking place at 2pm to confirm the display meets the criteria established by Guinness World Records.
Spring into Cranleigh will also feature an Italian market, live music and food stalls, as well as special promotions from our High Street retailers. Spring into Cranleigh 2019 is generously sponsored by Hans Christmas Andersen.
