Surrey Hills Rehab – May Newsletter

Dear all SHR participants,

Surrey Hills Rehab continue to follow Public Health England guidelines and all our sessions since 13th March have been online only to protect us all. Our new home at Snoxhall is closed for 12 weeks and we wait to hear from Cranleigh Parish Council, who own the building, for further details nearer to June.

We have been so impressed with 90% of you managing to make the transition over to video sessions, either in a group or 1:1. This is with special thanks to Louise who has spent many hours doing practice sessions to build your confidence to manage the IT skills required!

The feedback from you has been so positive and supportive and we really want to thank you for that. We are enjoying seeing you through video so much and it has given us the opportunity to analyse your movement patterns in a different light which has actually been an unexpected positive. It has also kept us sane from juggling the needs of ourselves, our families and homeschooling our children in this strange new world! The sessions give us all a sense of routine and structure, which is good for everyone’s wellbeing.

We still have some exercise equipment kits so please do let us know if you need anything. They are all new and in their original packaging to reduce risk of contamination. They cost £30 (no profit) and can be delivered to your front door. We have also got a list of all the equipment we use at Snoxhall if you wish to buy other items directly from those companies.

For the few who have yet to manage an online session we hope to find a solution with you soon. We are trying to keep in contact with everyone as much as possible to keep this amazingly resilient SHR community connected. Please do call, text or email us too. We want to hear your news.

If anyone is continuing to need to go out shopping or get medication, please do let us know because many of our team are volunteers with the local community schemes and can assist you with this or put you in contact with the volunteers for your area. We have heard of people who have become quite poorly with their only contact with the outside world being the supermarkets, so please please bear this in mind.
